Did you know Live Oak Student Ministry for 6th-12th graders averages 160 people each Wednesday night? The first 30 minutes of LOSM are designed for connection, welcoming guests, catching up, and allowing teens and volunteers to fuel up mid-week! During this time, we serve an easy meal that is both casual and fueling for hungry teenagers! What’s amazing is we have an awesome family that has gotten this meal down to $175 a week to feed EVERYONE!!! WOW!!!
In the past we had volunteers bring food to contribute to the meal, but that has become a little stressful and chaotic. We also charged kids $3 a meal and it is never fun to watch a kid not feel comfortable if they don’t have money, we never turn a kid away… it just wasn’t kid friendly if they didn’t have cash.
SO!!! This year we have a new strategy!
