Psummer in the Psalms
The Psalms are one of the most read, sung, and referenced books in all of the scriptures. The Psalms are a diverse book or poetry and prayers as people respond to God as they travel on their journey through life. This summer we will dive into the Psalms as we Read, Reflect and Respond to various Psalms each Sunday. Join us on this journey as we spend the Psummer in the Psalms.
Week 9: Psalm 67 – Psalm 67 shows us that God’s great plan is to bring salvation to all the nations using us, the redeemed people of God, as messengers of the gospel.
DISCUSSION/REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- Share among your group any places you’ve been to outside the country. What was the purpose of the trip? How did leaving the United States and seeing other countries affect you?

Spend some time SOAPing this passage. You can either spend time SOAPing individually and documenting for a several minutes and then spend time sharing with each -OR- SOAP in real time with each other. Either way make as many observations as you can.

OBSERVATIONS & QUESTIONS:
What words or phrases stand out to you most in Psalm 67? Why do you think they caught your attention?
- In verses 1-2, why does the psalmist want God to show grace, blessing and favor to His people? How does this challenge the way we often think about God’s blessings
- What are some practical ways God’s people make his ways known today?
- The phrase “Let all the peoples praise you” is repeated twice (vv. 3 and 5). Why do you think repetition is important here? What does this reveal about God’s heart?
- Verse 4 says the nations should be lad because God “judges the peoples with equity and guides the nations.” Why is God’s justice and leadership good news for the world?
- How does Psalm 67 connect worship and mission? Why are these two ideas inseparable?
- Have you ever experienced God blessing you in a way that gave you an opportunity to bless someone else? Share examples among your group

- What can we do to have a heart for the nations like God does?

Who is someone in your life that needs Jesus? What can you do this week to reach that person with the gospel
