Sermon-Based Discussion Questions

*If you are watching this alone, use these as reflection questions. You may want to journal and write down your responses. If you are watching with others, have one person lead the discussion by reading this discussion guide and questions out loud after you watch the sermon.

  • Now What? What do you do when you don’t know what to do?
    • Life is always full of many circumstances and choices that are difficult to navigate. And then we find ourselves in a situation like we are in now and it makes it even more complex. There are many unknowns and “what ifs” an it is overwhelming. The twists and turns of life can often leave us disoriented and not sure what to do or which way to go. In this series called “Now What?”, we are asking about the question, “what do you do when you don’t know what to do?”.
    • UNIQUELY YOU: This week we talked about a clue to discovering God’s plan for your life. God created you and his thumbprints are clues about his plans for you. The more you understand God’s thumbprints on you, the better you are able to discern his plans for you.

  • NEXT STEPS
    • Choose one thing you can do this week to better discover your uniqueness.
    • Choose one thing you can do this week to use your uniqueness.
    • Have an ICNU conversation with someone to tell them what uniqueness you see in them.
    • Do the “Doug is…” exercise where a group of people who know each other (team, family, small group, etc.) has everyone write down their names on the top of a paper (“Doug is…”), sit in a circle, and pass their page around the circle. Everyone writes 3-4 words that describe  who that person is and how they are unique. At the end, everyone has a list made by people who know each other well describing how they are unique.
    • Read one chapter of Proverbs a day. Proverbs has 31 chapters and there are 31 days in May; so, read a chapter a day based on the date (Examples: May 17th read Proverbs 17, May 18th read Proverbs 18, etc.)
    • Memorize Ephesians 2:10
      • For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
