Throughout the pandemic our leadership monitored the ever-changing situation surrounding COVID 19 and kept a posture of prayer. We were and are committed to creating a safe environment for our church family and our city. Our heart behind every decision made since the beginning of the pandemic has been how can Live Oak serve others, especially the most vulnerable.
May 2021 – As we saw an enduring decrease in the number of COVID cases and an increase in the number of vaccinations in our Lubbock community, Live Oak decided to move to mask optional for all of our environments. This includes Sunday mornings, College Ministry, Student Ministry, Kids Ministry, childcare and all small group settings. This same option is extended to all staff and volunteers serving in the ministries at Live Oak. Those who chose to wear a mask are welcome to do so!
As of May 16, 2021 we are no longer asking for pre-RSVPs for main services or kids ministry. THANK YOU for your flexibility in using our free-ticketing system over the pandemic. It sure helped us manage reduced capacities and plan for volunteer needs!
Many Live Oakers still worship from home, either sometimes, or exclusively, and it is our on-going commitment to bring you an excellent and engaging home worship experience. We are doing our best to give it the support and intention it deserves and our greatest hope is folks feel a sense of virtual community through the platform. Online worship services are here to stay!

The novel coronavirus has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and agencies recommend social distancing, mask wearing, and in many locations, prohibited or reduced capacities for the congregation of groups of people. We are doing everything we can to be compliant with all regulations and ensure your safety and the safety of your family. We have put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but we cannot guarantee that you or your family members will not become infected. Preventative measure include increased cleaning, mask wearing, social distancing, temperature checks for volunteers & staff, and online options for engagement.
